I worked for Westgate Resorts for over 20 years, and even transferred to Tennessee to help with the opening of their Smoky Mountain Resort. After years of dedication and loyalty to them, I was laid off in November of 2008 with nothing more than a call to tell me not to come in. There were no severance packages and many have not received a payout on vacation time earned. As I'm sure you are aware, there have been thousands laid off in recent months. The only upside to this entire mess is that the stress is finally gone.

A-Jack,
Grab some popcorn and a drink!! this company is about to feel the pinch from relentless unethical behavior in all aspects of it's business. The Reserve recovery issue by an agent that has terminated his or her relationship with the company is being recognized as paramount in in the real estate industry as we speak. In short if someone is late on a monthly payment long after an agent has sold them. You owe W/G the commission. Yes! (Try to keep a straight face!) FACT!

I'm really freaked out. WG owes me almost $14,000 and informed me to day i have to wait six months and if one payment is late even a day i won't be paid. I don't understand how they can do such illegal things. Anyone have any suggestions

Westgate Resorts, timeshare endorsements or claim of endorsements by USA TODAY, Fortune, Orlando Sentinel, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and others listed by them in the member enrollment BOOK, are misleading. For example the Fortune article, part that is highlighted and magnified "...four could save $40,000 over 25 years" the actual article by FAYE RICE dated June 12, 1995 says "...four could save $30,000 over 25 years". The embellishment from $30,000 to $40,000 is not the only lie. Research the others in their statements. either don't ex hist or misleading. Our one hour session promised to be only 1 hour resulted into 7 hour session. For my self, I depended on the articles given to me and my spouse reflecting respectable NEWS sources as being accurate. When those articles are modified or don't exhist this is intend to defraud. I am seeking legal representation and with the possibility of filing suit for fraud. Also all the information is being forwarded to the Florida AG. The question is? are the acts of Westgate resorts civil or criminal or both. If you were given their documents reflecting "TIMESHARE ENDORSEMENTS" reflecting the supposed positive statements by major News organizations, please see if you have legal recourse on canceling contract and getting a refund. If this is not fraud then what is!!

For those employees that used high pressure sales tactics to manipulate and Force people into sales of Timeshares at Westgate, those employees of Westgate, that lied and sold timeshares.
I can't feel too sorry for you, and it's nice you can get some more money. It sounds like to me a lot of the sales people, I think they are getting what they gave.

i would like to be made aware of any class action law suit against westgat resorts and d.seigel, as i was one of the scam victims. as well as others in this website. http://www.utahstories.com/2008/09/10/westgate-resorts-admits-timeshare-advertising-dishonest/
i am not plugging anything here bet merely helping these victims who are seeking justice and fairness that this company neglected in doing so.
i hope and wish that we can gather more victim and get a lawyer for our representation.

What about the millions of people that have been scammed into buying these units - falsification of number of days and calculation of $$ for sales purposes, falsification of contracts, of not being allowed to send the forms to your own lawyer (you are not allowed to take the contract out of the office until it is signed and deposit is received)falsification of commission, of financing, flat out lies about endorsements, horrible service, and on and on and on. Why hasn't anything been done by the states, consumer fraud, whatever!! to stop them ?!!!!!

This is the crookedest company I haqve ever been involved with. I own at Orlando and Myrtle Beach both and find it very hard to book my week as promised of course they tell you for only 149.00 dollars they can transferyou to another Westgate Resort. If I had wanted another resort I would have bought another resort. Yea $149.00 fee what a lot of crap. n the mean time there are non owners staying at your resort when you can't and they try ripping them off in their great pressure speech. I will be very happy to join the lawsuit against their fraud to the fraud of their owners.
